  In this material each part just take you about three minutes, That’s the 

reason what we call it “English in Three Minutes”, in this series ,you’re 

going to learn some easy ways to ask and answer common questions in 

English,and it’s really useful ,and it only takes three minutes! in this 

lesson you are going to learn new and more common ways to ask and answer the 

question: like ”How are you?” in English and it’s total just 25 plays.

2.Asking about job:

        
 
What do you do?=what’s your job?

What are you doing?


Answer:
1)、I work at+工作/学习地点:I work at hospital/law firm

2)、I work for+工作单位：  I work for IBM/Apple/Microsoft

3、Asking about hobbies:

     
What do you do for fun?=  what is your hobbies?=   what is your favorite?  = what do 

you do in your free time?

Answer:
I like to +v:    I like to watch movies

I like   +n:    I like watching movies
 

 I like to play golf

 I like playing golf
 I’m kind of like playing golf.
 I like to hanging out with my friends and stuff like that.

4.Asking where are you from:

Where you from ?=where are you from?

 Tips:对方回答的地点越详细，可能越想和你交流他/她的家乡。

5、Ask name:

Normally: “what is your name? “maybe is to directly ,so ,how about try some indirect 

ways:

Hi,I’m Daniel,And you?

I’m sorry, what was your name again? 
 

Tips:when you asking some thing to someone,plus their name which people will like 

you more

For example: what do you do for fun,sophie?

6.Getting Contact：

Could I get your number?could I get your email address?

May I get your number? May I get your email address?


Answer:

Sure,my phone number /email address is ,,, ,,,

7.Ask where do your live:

Do you living,,, ,,,
                  

8.Asking where did you go to school/university/college?

Tips: Say something always positive all the time.

9.Talking about family:

Tips: rule=sarcastic

10.Asking about Relationships

Try something indirectly and do not so blunt!

For instance: Are you married, or,,, ,,,?

Answer: no , I’m single at the moment.

11.Giving and Receiving Compliments:

Great to break the ice

I like your bag/shoes/dress

Where did you get /buy it?

12.Asking what did you do in the weekend?

Meet someone again.

13.Asking about music:

What do you like?=what are you into?

What kind of music you like? = what kind of music are you into? = what sort of music 

are you into?


   I really into classical music /hip-hop  =  I really like classical music/ hip-hop
 

14.Asking about food:

(1) what sort of /kind of  food you like?

(2)Do you like sushi? Why you like it,etc?


Answer:

Yeah ,My favorite type/food is eel.

I don’t like it  =  I’m not huge fun of it 

15.Asking  Are you going on vacation this year?

Phrase 句子

I’m staying at home.

I’m planning to go,,, ,,,

I’m thinking of going,,, ,,,
